Title: Compliance Officer / Associate Counsel

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Legal

Seeking an executive with 4 - 7 years' experience to join the IMG Legal/Compliance Group, with a focus on the IMG Academy business. The ideal candidate has employment law or compliance experience at a top law firm, government office, university or in-house department, with education law and compliance experience preferred. The position will be based at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.

Primary responsibilities include:

+ Drafting, implementing and refining policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant environment for students at the IMG Academy

+ Assisting with the ongoing review of health and safety programs identifying training priorities, target audiences, delivery methods and timing

+ Directing or assisting in the development and delivery of specialized training for employees, faculty and students on relevant policy areas, including non-discrimination and harassment prevention

+ Directing employee/coach/student investigations of potential legal or policy violations

+ Leading efforts to identify and prioritize potential areas of compliance vulnerabilities and risk and recommend corrective action

+ Drafting and negotiating participant waivers and employment related documents

+ Researching and staying up to date on the latest education trends and issues, including Title IX compliance, student safety and participation issues

+ Providing real-time advice on business and legal issues relating to preparatory boarding school issues


+ Educational or labor and employment experience at a top law firm, university, or in-house practice, or experience working in a compliance department with training experience, preferably at a university

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will enable interaction with a range of personalities and styles in a fast-paced business environment (including explaining complex and sensitive concepts to clients and colleagues)

+ Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and produce quality work within deadlines

+ Solid analytic skills, creative problem-solving abilities and a practical business-oriented viewpoint

+ Outstanding drafting and organizational skills

+ Positive attitude focused on problem solving, ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of individuals, proactive and highly team-oriented approach to work
